Dreams In Motion offer classes for age 3 and up. Choose from PreSchool Dance, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Pointe. Beginner through advanced, recreational and competitive classes.

BALLET

A classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement with formalized steps and gestures. Ballet defines the foundation for almost all other dance genres. It utilizes controlled movements of the body to express the beauty of physical motion, often telling a story. Each ballet class will begin with classical barre work to develop proper technique and warm up the body. Following barre, dancers will do ballet exercises and combinations in the center and across the floor.

JAZZ

Jazz is one of the most fun and classic styles of dance! Jazz is performed on stage with attack, technique, and usually with a lot of attitude! Using its upbeat movement, jazz dance emphasizes rhythm, style, lines, and a strong low center of gravity. We strive to instill these key aspects into our students. Dancers will get the opportunity to learn multiple styles of jazz while incorporating its basic technique. We believe that a strong understanding of the basics will help our dancers thrive!

MICRO MINI PreSchool Dance Age 3-5

We are building the next generation of dancers at Dreams In Motion. Our Micro Minis will work on basic technique, developing balance, rhythm, coordination, timing, counting music, and learn to perform in front of an audience. Students will begin their journey developing vocabulary in all styles as well.

HIP HOP

A fun, energetic form of movement, Hip Hop is inspired by both popular music and popular dance moves. This class is great for expression, freedom of movement and adding in lots of the dancer's own personality! Using age appropriate music and choreography, we stretch/warm-up with hip hop techniques taught both across the floor & during center exercises. Most weeks, dancers will also learn a short combo to perform during the class.

COMBO CLASSES                      Age 5-7    An introduction to ballet, tap and hip hop. This hour long class is divided each week to present the basics in each of the three styles of dance. The student is introduced to ballet at the barre and in center. Basic tap steps are introduced for rhythm and to create a relationship between the feet and the mind. Fundamental hip hop movement is taught to promote expression and musicality during class. Dancers use props such as scarves, ribbons, bean bags and more to add even more fun to each class!

TAP

A style of American dance using tap shoes to create different rhythms and sounds. It is characterized by rhythmical tapping of the heels and toes on the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap is great for developing musicality and coordination. Our classes include barre warm-ups &  center and across the floor technique.

ACRO

Acrobatic Dance is the fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Our beginner class is designed for the student who has not taken acrobatics or gymnastics before and will focus on strength and flexibility, while also introducing basic acro skills and fundamentals such as handstands, bridges and cartwheels. A combination of strength and flexibility exercises are an important part of this class.

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary dance borrows from ballet, jazz, social dances, and many modern dance techniques of the 20th century. Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions, being able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotion. It focuses on spacial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, leaps, turns, efficiency of muscle usage, and safe body alignment. Although formal technique is not the main focus in this class, it is necessary for the strength and poise needed in this art form.
